The Philippine Physical Therapy Association, Inc.
cordially invites you to the
PPTA 2012 National Convention
21-22 July 2012 (Saturday and Sunday)
Venue to be announced
The Philippine Physical Therapy Association, Inc (PPTA) is a local professional organization of Filipino Physical Therapists duly recognized by local government bodies like the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC). The Association is also a member organization of the World Confederation for Physical Therapy (WCPT) and Asian Confederation of Physical Therapy (ACPT).
PPTA members, non-PPTA members, and physical therapy students annually convene in an event like this which serves as one of the continuing education programs. It aims to reinforce the knowledge and skill a physical therapist should possess by listening to lectures provided by speakers in the field of Physical Therapy and other disciplines related to Physical Therapy. Moreover, research papers are also presented in this event to further ponder the practice of physical therapy in the Philippines.
In past conventions, PPTA basically highlighted the emerging roles of physical therapist in the society and reinforced the definition of Physical Therapy. This year, the PPTA convention will feature how Filipino physical therapists work to create a strong allied health profession in the country.
This year’s convention aims to:
- Explore the other possible avenues that a physical therapist can practice his/her skills after acquiring their license.
- Discuss the opportunities that await the future physical therapists locally and abroad from the perspectives of fellow Filipino physical therapists who have tried working in rehabilitation facilities outside the country and from the employers
- Discuss the current status or updates of physical therapy practice in the different fields.
- Discuss the present vital issues faced by Filipino physical therapists and the profession.
- Provide a venue for Filipino physical therapist coming from the different parts of the archipelago to interact about their sentiments concerning trending issues of the profession in their respective localities that might have a national impact.
PARTICIPANTS
This two-day convention is organized by PPTA members coming from different institutions in Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao.
